It seems like this is the week of free / cheap things.Coldplay is letting people download Violet Hill, the first single off of their yet-to-be-released new album, Viva La Vida, for free off of their website.
All you do is click here, and fill out the form. Afterwards, they send you an email with a download link.
What do I think of the song? I think that if you were disappointed by X&Y, you're going to think this song is only okay. It doesn't have the same simple feel as A Rush of Blood to the Head, but instead has the more electronic sound they adopted in X&Y.
Ultimately, if this is the best song off of the album, then I expect Viva La Vida to be only slightly better than X&Y, but nowhere near Parachutes.

My iPod has been liking Coldplay these days .. but if anything from X&Y turns on (with the exception of "Fix You"), it's skipped.
Chris Martin still freaks me out when he sings, though :x
We're still going to go see them, right??
I'm trying really, really hard to win the free tickets to see them at MSG. And by trying hard I mean checking their site obsessively.
