Exercise of the Day: Planks


Planks are my favorite quick exercise to do, whether I'm at the gym or not. It works like a million things- like your core (aka your abs!) as well as legs, arms, and back, and you can do it anywhere you have a bit of floor space. It's not a super fun exercise to do- I mean you start shaking and sweating and you feel like you're going to die, but really, aren't those elements what the best workouts are made of? ...No?

I usually do the planks on elbows move, holding the position for at least 30 seconds for at least 3 sets of 2. Honestly, when you don't have tons of time to exercise, it's like the best thing to do. And planks are so versatile, so you can switch up your position and work out new muscles/areas. Here are 4 ways to rock the plank!

WiiFit has Planks, too! They are tough. Whew!

Planks are the most difficult exercise for me to do. I have no problem pushing my self to do that extra sit up, but no will power when the work out requires you to stay still.
