You Don't Mess With the Zohan (starring Adam Sandler, John Turturro, Emmanuelle Chriqui)
Kung Fu Panda got an 86 on Rotten Tomatoes, Zohan received a 35. Choose wisely.
Events:
Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is taking place this Saturday and Sunday at Madison Square Park from 12PM to 6PM. You can go for free, but it will cost you $8 dollars per plate to eat.
Jake and Amir will be performing live Monday night (I know, I know, not weekend but close enough) in the Street Meet Comedy Show at Cake Shop.

I heard the Panda movie was very good.
If it wasn't for the heat, the BBQ convention would have been much better. It was good though, I recommend going to Cecils for some ribs and sausage.
Both Kung Fu Panda and Zohan actually received some favorable reviews - definitely not what Adam and I were expecting; and while had this year been a movie year that has not starved us of good movie-going experiences, Adam and I would have never made it to see Panda (despite its good reviews), we are super glad we went to see it...at...10:00 AM on Friday after having arrived from Montreal at 8:00 (yes, we managed to waste a couple of hours somewhere in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn)...
BTW, if one's not in the habit of reading A.O. Scott's movie reviews, I suggest taking it up. He is a smart and hilarious writer. re: Zohan: "Let me be blunt: “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan” is the finest post-Zionist action-hairdressing sex comedy I have ever seen."
