Tomorrow is 4/15, the dreaded Tax Day for Americans. I think it's probably a little too late for me to tell you to go file your taxes at this point, but um, yeah, if you haven't done it already, you probably should. Good news guys, I actually am getting money back from the government this year! Oh, you don't care? It's ok, I'm just glad I don't owe hundreds like I did last year, so I don't care that you don't care! But here's good news that's applicable for all of you. Free McDonald's Coffee!
You know I love free things, especially food, and you know I am generous about sharing that information to our faithful bloggers! For you coffee lovers, McDonald's is instituting Free Mocha Mondays from now until August 3, from 7am-7pm. Basically you get a free sample of their iced or hot mochas every Monday til the 3rd, with sample sizes being a generous full cup. Not bad, eh?
I've heard decidedly mixed reviews about McDonald's McCafe, but hey, I will take anything that is free and try it at least once. Also, I mean, it's McDonald's, I don't think one should expect barista greatness.

Burt's Bee Giveaway
I'm a fan of Burt's Bees, the makers of the famous minty lip balm that is so so refreshing. I'm probably not as huge of a fan as my friend Leslie, who goes through a tube in 3 weeks (I don't think I've ever finished one before either losing it or getting a new one), but nonetheless I like their stuff. Anyways, the Earth-loving company is celebrating its 25th year anniversary by giving away tons of free stuff, including 25,000 tubes of their famous lip balm (1,000 per day). Free Wifi @ Starbucks for iPhone / Blackberry Users!
Another good reason for me to switch out of Verizon and join the AT&T bandwagon? Free wifi at Starbucks with an iPhone or Blackberry.
The fine print includes that you need a Blackberry Bold (though Pearl users, and maybe even other phones, will be included in the future) or an iPhone with an unlimited data plan.
Even with those extra details, it still seems like a very good deal since you can find a Starbucks pretty much everywhere, including in most Barnes and Nobles.
So if you're lucky enough to have an iPhone or are planning on getting a Bold, go get yourself some free wifi.

Whilst hanging out with a friend in Palisades Park yesterday, my friend got the sudden craving for frozen yogurt. As we were walking towards Fruits Gelateria .. we walked past the Red Mango that has been in setting up shop in town. My friend, who is a die-hard fan of Red Mango, jumped for joy when she saw people inside the store..so we ran inside .. only to see the store owners staring at us in shock, as they were making last minute adjustments to the store before it's grand opening.

Free makeup!
A sweet deal in anti-trust settlement
This is kind of old news, but I forgot to write about it, so here it is. As part of a massive settlement from a class-action suit filed in 2003, millions of consumers (ie, YOU AND ME) will be eligible to receive free makeup and perfume from department stores in January. The department stores named in the suit include Macys, Bloomingdale's, Filene's, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue, and they were accused of violating antitrust laws and conspiring to fix prices. All the defendents are of course denying any wrongdoing, but nonetheless, they are agreeing to give away more than $175 million in products to consumers who purchased specific brands of makeup, moisturizers, and fragrance products at their stores between May 29, 1994 and July 16, 2003.
I think it's safe to say that in those 9 years, most of us have bought a cosmetic product or two at those stores. The best part is that you don't even need a receipt as proof that you had purchased something during those times, all you have to do is visit http://www.cosmeticssettlement.com/ and register to receive an email when the products are being given away. Or you can also call 1-877-604-5776 to receive your notification card. It can't get any simpler than that.
