My my my, Zac Efron, how you've grown. I've always thought he was cute, from his High School Musical days, but now that he's officially 21 and officially moving further away from his Disney days, I don't feel quite so terrible about openly professing my schoolgirl crush on him. What is not to like? He's hot, he's talented, he seems nice, and minus him dating the untalented Vanessa Hudgens (YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER ZEFRON!), he's not annoying like all the other tween celebrities out there (Yeah, I'm talking to you, Miley). And he actually cares about his career: taking interesting roles like 17 Again, his new movie opening tomorrow, opting out of the remake of Footloose because he didn't want to be pegged as the musical guy, not dropping an album just cause he has the singing chops, taking advice from former child actor/mega Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio. Nice job, Zac.

High School Musical 4
By now, most of us have heard that a High School Musical 4 is in the works, and set to air on tv as a Disney Channel original movie in 2010.
I'm not as excited, since the main cast of HSM 1 - 3 have "graduated," but it's safe to assume that the underclassmen highlighted in HSM3 will be part of the new cast. Which is cute, I guess.
Anyway, according to the Disney site, D23, the upcoming installment of the HSM series will shed a bit more light on East High Wildcats' rivals, the West High Knights:
East meets West in a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights in the upcoming High School Musical 4, the fourth story in the celebrated franchise that became a cultural sensation, fueled unprecedented digital music downloads and underscored the strength of Disney Channel and Radio Disney's connection to kids, tweens and families.
High School Musical 4 brings the franchise back to television in a music and dance-filled Disney Channel Original Movie that will introduce a new cast of characters. It is scheduled to begin production later this year for premiere on Disney Channel in 2010. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide. DVD of the Day: High School Musical 3
Who's going to get their copy today? :x
Besides the Twilight DVD (which hits stores next month on March 21st), I've been anticipating the release of High School Musical 3 for a few reasons: a) I missed the first 15 minutes or so when I went to see it in theaters, b) it's my favorite out of the three, and c) I think that Zac Efron is cute :x

Movie Trailer of the Day: 17 Again
I have my fair share of young Hollywood crushes. Sadness, I know. But one of my top crushes is Zac Efron -_- I'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but I seriously heart the High School Musical series :x
Anyway, I really can't wait for 17 Again to pop out in theaters. Sure, Zac Efron gets to don the basketball shorts and play a star basketball player (like in High School Musical), but the tipping point for me was Matthew Perry, otherwise known as Chandler Bing, my favorite actor from Friends! :) But besides those two elements, 17 Again looks like a wholesome-ish movie, and sometimes I'm just in the mood for a nice family movie.
Sure Zac Efron isn't really spreading his wings too far away from his humble HSM beginnings, nor has Matthew Perry had a decent flick since the end of Friends, but a girl can have hopes, right?
17 Again is set to be released in theaters on April 17, 2009.

Song of the Day: Just Wanna Be With You - Troy & Gabriella (HSM3)

Okay, I feel a bit shameful to admit it .. but I kind of love High School Musical. (hangs head in shame) If you look at my current iPod playlist, there's a couple of songs from the three HSM movies.
Sure, a lot of the songs are cheesy, but the one song that I can easily listen to without cringing is "Just Wanna Be With You," which was featured in the more recent film, High School Musical: Senior Year.
It's upbeat, cute, and a happy song to listen to.
