Super Bowl Sunday Recipes

Hey hey now, who is excited for the Super Bowl this year??? Yeah, me either. I don't quite know my plans as of yet, but if I don't end up doing anything, I'll totally be ok. I don't know if it's just me, but there doesn't seem to be the usual hoopla surrounding the Super Bowl this year, maybe because the Cardinals don't have many fans outside Arizona, and no one really cares about Pittsburgh (sorry if you do). I don't think anything will quite top last year's amazing Giants victory anyway.

But alas, if you are having a Super Bowl party, a) why haven't you invited me yet, I am the life of every party, and b) I found some cool recipes that you should definitely use. You are so very welcome!

Ok so I LOVE pigs in blankets. They're like the staple at every party/reception where hor' d'oeuvres are being served, right? And they're so tiny and good that you don't realize you've just had 6 of them. And subsequently, 500 calories. Which is why, instead of the usual recipe, you want to make these delicious De-Pudged Pigs in a blanket! Let me plug Hungry Girl while I'm at it, she has awesome low-fat recipes and tips she emails her loyal readers (I am one of them), and her cookbook is pretty sweet too. But yes, I've made these little pigs in blankets and they're realllly good.

And you can't have a party without guacamole! My friend The Duchess recently wrote a post about making the most delicious guacamole. And if you really want to try something new and exciting, add bacon to your guacamole. YUMMMM, I don't think you can ever go wrong with bacon.

Here are a couple more: Cheesy bread, Stuffed potato skins w/chicken, onions, and sour cream, Paula Deen's uber fattening nachos, and of course Red Velvet Cupcakes.

Dude, that cracked me up so much :D

And red velvet cupcakes FTW! If only we had an empty house, I'd totally make a batch. And some guacamole. YUM!
